These stats today include both Popped Collars and GG matches. Why? Because I forgot to exclude the GG games until it was going to be too much effort to go back and do it again.
As always, starting with some basic overall stats. PC/GG have played 207 games in total, against 77 different opposing teams. That number might not be exactly right - if a team changed names from season to season without me realising they were the same, they will be counted as two (or more) different teams. Of course, I always recognise our regular opponents and they've been recorded properly.
Here's the team's we've played most often:
Opponent | Matches | Wins | Losses | Avg For | Avg Against |
4 Skins | 16 | 6 | 10 | 127.5 | 122.9 |
Pidge's Coupe | 12 | 7 | 5 | 155.9 | 127.0 |
Boonies | 10 | 9 | 1 | 157.3 | 107.3 |
Underarm | 8 | 6 | 2 | 114.0 | 80.1 |
S.N.A.F.U | 7 | 7 | 0 | 185.9 | 78.6 |
Take That | 7 | 6 | 1 | 190.3 | 73.0 |
Tuff Stuff | 7 | 1 | 6 | 101.3 | 171.3 |
Big 4 Bandits | 6 | 5 | 1 | 120.2 | 100.3 |
Can't Bat Can't Bowl | 6 | 5 | 1 | 158.7 | 137.2 |
Just 1 More | 6 | 4 | 2 | 142.5 | 117.8 |
The top 3 are our classic opponents from Weston days. Pidge's Coupe are the so-called "old blokes" whose team had three or four different names over the time we were there.
Underarm are in fourth place because they were in the same competition as GG during their brief existence - then we found them again as the Popped Collars when we came to Kaleen.
Next on the list are the unfortunate team who hold the title of "most plays without a win". There were two main teams made up of what we liked to call "centre brats" - SNAFU were the ones who weren't so good. Or maybe just the ones that didn't try very hard. The other such team were The Balbs who we played 3 times for 1 win. They may actually have been the same team just with many changes to the players - but I can't be sure.
Take That were another one of our bunnies - the only game they won against us was the most linked to game in this blog.
Tuff Stuff were the standout team at Lyneham during our last dig there. We beat them the first time we played them (I think it may have even been our first game on returning to the NICC), but from then on, they dominated us.
Our bogey teams
We actually have very few of these. After last week, Gold Diggers sit on top of the list of teams we have never beaten, having knocked us off four times now.
The only other team we have played more than once and never beaten are a team called Rebels from Weston. They were one of the pro-teams in the short lived "A Grade" competition they had running there for the representative-level players.
Technically, there are 8 other teams that we've never beaten - but only played once. For comparison, there are 30 teams we've played once for one win (31 if you count Shaw).
Our bunnies
We saw in the first table that SNAFU have the most games without beating us. Here's a list of the teams we've played at least three times and never lost to.
Opponent | Matches | Wins | Losses | Avg For | Avg Against |
S.N.A.F.U | 7 | 7 | 0 | 185.9 | 78.6 |
LMIAB | 4 | 4 | 0 | 168.5 | 88.3 |
NDC | 4 | 4 | 0 | 154.0 | 74.0 |
Phil's Floggers | 3 | 3 | 0 | 179.0 | 87.0 |
Pumpin Booty | 3 | 3 | 0 | 199.7 | 135.0 |
St Jude's Dads | 3 | 3 | 0 | 178.0 | 72.0 |
The Groms | 3 | 3 | 0 | 175.0 | 82.7 |
In conclusion, don't give your team an acronym for a name if you want to do well against us.
