Winning Percentages

It's Grand Final week - Popped Collars take on It's On Like Donkey Kong at 6:50pm today in the "B-Grade" decider.
Also, in last weeks' blog, I may have incorrectly quoted our overall win/loss percentage. In an attempt to rectify that, and to see what chance we have of winning tonight's big game, here are a few quick Popped Collars win percentages.

Popped Collars, all time
This is a few percent less than I quoted last week. The mistake was because I didn't have the most up-to-date database of stats available, and was trying to remember results of our most recent matches - I clearly over-estimated how well we had been doing.
If we play exactly one game per week, our 250th match will be on November 25th.

Popped Collars, in finals:

Popped Collars, Grand Finals
Our past Grand Final appearances include 2 back in our original stint at Weston, 1 at Lyneham (which would have been 2 if we'd been financial), and 2 at Kaleen, both against the Gold Diggers.

Grand Finals at Weston
Back in the early days, there were only ever 3 teams in contention for the title. Over the course of 3 seasons, all combinations of those 3 teams played in a one GF. Only one team won two competitions...

Games at 6:50pm
Certainly our players enjoy this time  slot, because it is convenient. But does it translate into extra victories?
I was initially surprised by the low number of 6:50pm games - but then realised that the former Weston competitions didn't have that time. They only had 3 matches per night, with the first one at 6:00.

This is the first time we have been in a competition with this team, so this table shows our head-to-head results for this season.

Since many claim that the blog is inspiring, let's test that. The results in the table below show how we have performed when a blog post was published 3 days or less before a match.

  1. Good luck!
Must've been fun cross-correlating blog posts with cricket matches.
