So here it is, the final part of The Great Blog Re-read....
In March this year I produced some beautiful graphs of our current players' batting and bowling performances. I've said before there needs to more pictures and stuff in the blog - these were a demonstration of why... they're just great.
We also went though another phase of struggling to a get a full team every week, and it brought about two more posts on a topic that had been discussed at least once before.
For a brief period of time, the word "disgraceful" became a fad. Lack of blog posts was disgraceful, performances on-field were declared to be disgraceful, and again there was a pair of posts on the subject. But like all fads, it died away quickly.
In a match in June, Gareth bowled so well that it was said that he won the game on his own.
Also around that time Andrew joined the team's regular-sub list, and had a strange start to his Popped career in the bowling stats. We also lost two matches due to shirt penalties...!
The 2014-15 season - the longest one ever - finally came to an end in June. And if this random post is anything to go by, so did my ideas for new blog posts...
As I tried to re-build a blog ideas list, the final months of 2015 were taken up with eight posts in a row full of reminiscing. I went back and read through all the old blog posts, re-capping the highlights. It was also used as a lead-up to another blog milestone, and was a way of "looking to the past" before moving into a new future.
And finally, in the blog of 15 December 2015, it was time for that "blog milestone" to be revealed, and it was accompanied by a shocking and mysterious announcement...
... oh ... hang on a minute ... that last bit hasn't happened yet ...
Career Stats
I was going to update the career stats page this week and do another stat to put at the end of this post... but I was much further behind in the career stats that I thought (9 games, rather than 5)... so that's all I've done.
Some milestones of the last 9 games:
- Gareth has surpassed Brad as the all-time leading wicket taker
- Sanjit bowled his 500th over, and took his 400th wicket - not quite at the same time, his 400th wicket came off the last ball of his 499th over
- Trompf played his 50th Popped Collars game (probably about his 13,348th game of indoor cricket overall)
And some upcoming ones:
- Xavier to play his 300th innings next week (or tonight if required to bat twice for some reason
- Gareth to bowl his 500th over tonight
- Gareth is also only 25 runs short of 4,000
