Completely random stats

Much frustration ensued this morning when we were asked to change our game-time for tonight - the third consecutive week that has happened. There are no stats on that, but I think that might be a record. Additionally, we were then told that if we didn't change, we would have no game tonight, and a double-header next week - then we were told we didn't have to change. Everyone loves the organisation at Weston.
To calm the angry hordes, here is a blog. Given that I don't have time to put together anything proper, here is a small selection of random stats.

When I say "random", I mean far more random than you might initially think. I have opened my database, and started dragging random things around on the screen and seeing what comes out.

Most wickets by a fielder/bowler combination in a match
There was one season where I recorded which fielders took all of the catches and run-outs while we were fielding. The first stat I have unintentionally put together is about having a bowler and fielder combine to affect many wickets in a match. In international cricket, you might be looking at classic combinations such as "c.Marsh b.Lillee"... "st.Healy b.Warne"... "run out (Ponting) b.McGrath" (if run-outs were recorded like that).

Anyway, for the Popped Collars, in the season with fielding stats recorded, the best in a match was 4 wickets via "fielded Brad, bowled Jake" with Brad taking 2 catches and 2 run-outs off Jakes bowling.

Over the entire season, the champion combinations were:
f.Andy  b.Rian (13)
f.Xavier  b.Brad (12)
f.Andy  b.Julian (11)

Rian and Andy combined for 6 stumpings, 6 run-outs, and 1 catch.

Splitting it up by wicket type, the most common occurrence over the season was:
c.Rian b.Brad (7) and c.Xavier b.Gareth (7)

I feel the need to start recording fielders again!

Most overthrows in a match by pairs who had shirt penalties applied
Yeah, now this is more like the silliness I hoped for!

First of all: "overthrows" are defined in my stats as being any physical runs made after the first. So, a side net where the batters run twice is counted as 2 runs + 1 overthrow. Or a wide where the batters manage to somehow complete 2 runs would be counted as 2 runs from the wide, 1 "run", and 1 "overthrow".

There have been two matches where batting pairs with shirt penalties scored a total of 3 overthrows. The most recent was a game against Dirty Gypsies earlier this year. One of their pairs (Dom and Jackson) came in to back with a missing shirt, and took 2 overthrows during their time at the crease. Trompf then later batted with a Popped-Collar-shirt-less Andrew, and they took 1 overthrow as well.

As something a little more "normal", the most overthrows in a match is 8. That was back in 2011 against Take That. It was in fact during this game, where we racked up our highest ever score of 329 (a record that still stands).

Andy and Steve took 3 additional runs during their 100+ stand, and there were 5 other balls where the batters snuck a second run during the match - a total of 4 per team.
