July 2010 was the first time it was noted that Gareth is the star wicket-taker for the team. Of course, in more recent times he has put in some stellar bowling performances - but it has been going on since the beginning.
There were a couple of blogs about who improved their performance when raging - but when Sanjit came out on top for batting, and Xavier for bowling, I decided that what I was measuring was probably nothing to do with rage!
Then a couple of blogs about the title of "Jackpot Master" - something that used to be common phrase /title among the players, but hasn't been heard discussed for many years now. Time to bring it back?
I then tried to run a 'competition' to crown the "Greatest Moment In Indoor Cricket". Perhaps at the end of this re-reading of the blog I will create a list of the "Greatest Moments Of The Popped Collars" and we can vote on that.
The Friday night spin-off team, GG, won the premiership in their first and only season. The crazy antics of the grand final (in particular, of our over-enthusiastic opponents) were written about in detail on the blog.
The main team were not so lucky, going down to the 4Skins in their semi-final, helped along by a score of -27 from Jim Ragg - an innings Brad apparently remembers all too well. He can surely be partially forgiven given he took 4/-14 with the ball. His stats for the match even got most of their own blog post.
And before I leave today...
BONUS STAT: Third Dot Balls
A couple of weeks ago, Matt and Raj batted together against Juicy Ham and found themselves "third ball" on a massive seven occasions! Surely this is a record for a pair...
Pair | Date | Team | Opponents | Third Balls |
Matt / Raj | 15/9/15 | Popped Collars | Juicy Ham | 7 |
Joel / Zac | 13/12/10 | SNAFU | Popped Collars | 6 |
Gareth / Rian | 18/4/11 | Popped Collars | Pidge's Coup | 6 |
Chris / Dave | 25/6/10 | Chase Was | GG | 6 |
After that list, there are then 13 occurrences of having 5 third-balls in a pair.
Congratulations, Matt and Raj on your new record!
