There has been a post about this kind of thing before - nearly three years ago now, so let's go again.
We have actually only had two games in the last 12 months where we played short - both of those games were against Juicy Ham, and both of those games we lost. One was just a few months ago at the start of this year, the other was almost exactly one year ago - 8 April 2014.
Over all time, Popped Collars have played 59 games of 8-a-side with less than 8 players, and won 39 of them. We also played 13 games of 6-a-side at Kaleen with less than 6 players for 10 wins.
The overall breakdown looks like this:
Players missing | Matches | Wins | Losses | % Won |
Zero | 194 | 130 | 64 | 67.0% |
One | 53 | 38 | 15 | 71.7% |
Two | 15 | 8 | 7 | 53.3% |
Three | 4 | 3 | 1 | 75% |
TOTAL | 266 | 179 | 87 | 67.3% |
This afternoon, after reading the old blog, suggested dropping someone to improve our chances of winning - he is still correct to say that. However, we still win more than 50% of games no matter how many players we have.
The question is: who should he drop?? Of course there are stats all over the blog that one could use, but let's expand last weeks stat (about winning when Brad plays) to look at all the people who are supposed to be playing tonight...
Player | Matches | Wins | Losses | % Won |
Brad | 230 | 159 | 71 | 69.13% |
Sanjit | 204 | 141 | 63 | 69.11% |
Rian | 215 | 148 | 67 | 68.83% |
Xavier | 254 | 170 | 84 | 66.92% |
Trompf | 19 | 12 | 7 | 63.16% |
Rajit | 37 | 19 | 18 | 51.35% |
The captain tops the list (of course) with Sanjit close behind (perhaps he should be the new vice-captain?). Unsurprisingly, those who have played a large number of games have fairly similar stats over all time.
But unfortunately, someone has to be last - and so it seems Raj will be getting the call from Brad shortly telling him his services are not required tonight.
