End Of Season 2010: Semi Final Stats

Following on from yesterday's match-report, today I present some specific stats, facts and figures from the match. A few records were set, or came very close to being set - mostly of the unsuccessful variety. However, several goals were achieved and milestones reached during the game to ensure that it wasn't all bad... just the result of the game was. The individual performances are shown in the "stat of the week" section on the left of the page.

Let's start with Jim. He was certainly the most eventful player of the match. Here's where his performances in the match rank him in the record books...

  • Bowling: 4/-14 ... 5th best bowling figures by a Popped Collars player
  • Bowling: 5 scoring shots ... 2nd best, only behind a 4 by Rian
  • Bowling: 7 dot balls ... bettered only by 8s from Andy and Julian
  • Batting: -27 runs ... 2nd worst by PC players (lowest is Jake's -29)
  • Batting: 8 wickets ... most by PC player. Equal to Bren's performance for the Boonies.
  • Contribution: -13 ... Best bowling figures by a player making a negative contribution
The partnership between Jim and Rian also produced the second lowest PC pair and produced the equal lowest amount of wickets, with 12. (A partnership of 12/-21 by Rian and Tony is the other contender in these categories) Fortunately for them there are several opposition scores and numbers of wickets lost that also come in ahead of them in these records.

From a team point of view, it was our 2nd lowest total. Jake asked while he was waiting to go into bat what our lowest was, and the best answer I could give off the top of my head was "about 50 or 60". Jake then made it his mission to ensure we didn't finish with a new record. Fortunately, I was spot on with my estimate - our lowest total is 55. In the final pair, Andy and Jake got our total to 58, thus achieving his goal.

There were also several milestones reached in so far as season totals go (eg, total runs scored for the season) - however I will discuss them in the next post, when I look at the overall performances for season 2010.
